AI governance sounds complicated until you think about it this way:
Years ago, employees started saving company files to personal USB drives because it was convenient.
Today, they're pasting company information into AI tools for the same reason.
The technology changed. Human behavior didn't.
The real risk isn't AI itself. It's making sure convenience doesn't outpace accountability.
That's why AI governance isn't about restricting innovation. It's about ensuring you know where your data goes, who can access it, and whether your organization would be comfortable explaining those decisions to a client, regulator, or board member.
Most leaders would agree: if you can't explain it, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

What stood out to me isn't just the number of new security flaws being disclosed. It's how quickly threat actors move from disclosure to exploitation. In some cases, scanning and attack attempts begin within hours of public release. (FIELD EFFECT)
🛡️This week's highlights:
• CitrixBleed-like vulnerability actively being exploited
• Public exploit research accelerating attacks on common software
• Critical Synology MailPlus email server flaws patched
• Increased targeting of internet-facing edge devices and gateways

Keeping systems current sounds simple until you're managing updates across servers, applications, email platforms, network devices, and cloud environments while still supporting day to day business operations.
Technology doesn't usually fail because updates don't exist.

🔴It fails because organizations don't have the time, resources, or visibility to stay ahead of them.

The companies that treat patching, monitoring, and lifecycle management as ongoing disciplines are often the ones best positioned to reduce risk.

🚨 The scam that doesn't need you to click anything.

Meet the TOAD: Telephone-Oriented Attack Delivery.

The email looks harmless: no link, no attachment. Just a phone number and a fake charge. Call it, and a "friendly agent" talks you into handing over access to your accounts.

There are now ~10 million of these attacks every month, and AI voice cloning is making them harder to spot.

Protect yourself:

📄 Treat unexpected invoices as guilty until proven innocent — never call the number in the email.

🚫 No real company asks you to install software for a refund.

⏳ Urgency is a manipulation tactic. Slow down.

📞 Verify callers through a number YOU look up (like the back of your card).

🐟 Report suspicious emails — don't just delete them.

We've learned to distrust links. Now it's time to stop trusting the voice on the other end.
