Soundrop was looking for a partner who could expand their payment options, upgrade and automate their processes, and manage 1099 and 1042 forms.

Trolley’s reach to 215+ countries let Soundrop offer expanded opportunities to artists in new geographies, including 100+ countries that cannot receive PayPal payments.

The potential applications of Trolley’s Invoices feature are particularly beneficial in the music industry given these numerous artist payments, according to the Trolley execs, who said that they developed their platform after discussions with industry professionals.

“We are going deeper to solve tax than anyone else in the industry,” said Barnett Klane, Trolley's VP of Product, whose company can manage payments from north of 215 countries and in some 135 currencies. “We are taking full ownership in solving global tax compliance in relation to payouts.”

Longer term, by producing and updating payment (and payment-adjacent) solutions, Trolley will look to simplify the industry for companies and lay the groundwork for continued growth in both talent and revenue – especially as streaming becomes increasingly popular in developing markets.

While it is summer for most of our team, we’re not just resting on a beach 🏖... Through June and July, we've been working hard on platform updates that will add value to your business. Some updates we released over the last month:

🔐 We received SOC 2 (Type 1) certification.
🗺 We translated critical tax forms into seven additional languages.
🇲🇱 We updated our routes to Mali. Payments to recipients in Mali need to be made via USD SWIFT transfers
🧑🏽‍💻 We updated the domains in emails, and our API, widget and portal to reflect the Trolley branding.
