“You’ve got a friend in me” 🎶 That’s the song Sam sent to me 10 years ago, when we “met” over a Facebook post and became pen pals across Europe. ✈️ We spent 6 months typing away until I decided to take 2 planes and 1 train to finally meet him in person.
10 years forward and I think we’re just getting started really. We’ve been living together (mostly 24/7) for over 9 years, business partners for almost 4 years and it feels like the journey hasn’t even begun 🙉
Friends often ask me if finding love happens when someone feels JUST RIGHT from the second you meet. They often hope, assume and wait for that to happen. But I seem to always answer that for me, Sam and I were first friends who fell in love with each others’ souls from afar. And everything else followed and was built together. A strong relationship doesn’t just happen…
We’ve had to work on creating and maintaining it on so many levels and that’s what keeps us going - the fact that we’re growing and improving as people TOGETHER, rather than waiting to find the perfect person.
