I've been using Libre Office (mainly Calc and Writer - equivalents to Excel and Word) since 2010. If you don't need the Outlook email program, and you don't do more obscure things in Excel or Word, you might want to give Libre Office a try.

Last month, The Document Foundation launched a campaign urging Office users to try out LibreOffice. Now, it has followed up with a user guide for version 25.2 to help make the switch easier.

Rogers and email - some important news.
As you know if you are a Rogers email user, the email is hosted by Yahoo.
As of April 3, 2024, yes, 2024, you can no longer create new Rogers email addresses.

Rogers is encouraging customers to transition to other email services like Gmail or Outlook.

Today, July 24, 2025 - there have been a lot of issues accessing Rogers/Yahoo email from programs as well as on-line. There may be a large outage re: the Rogers\Yahoo email. I haven't seen any news about such an outage yet (July 24, 2025 1:54pm). UPDATE: as of 3pm (or earlier) it seems to be working again.

I would strongly recommend to anyone with a Rogers/Yahoo email address to get an Gmail address and switch to using it instead.
