This Spring, our Lisbon team supported families in the Leiria region affected by Storm Kristin in January 2026.

The storm was the most severe ever recorded in Portugal, impacting around 1 million people and causing widespread infrastructure damage. Recovery is still ongoing, with many families continuing to face financial hardship and disruption.

To help, our team assembled care baskets with essential items requested by the Red Cross, designed to provide practical support to as many households as possible.

It was a reminder that community is strongest when we show up for each other, especially in difficult times.

That’s how much garbage our team helped remove from Cherry Beach in just 2 hours during our Spring Volunteer Day!

Here’s what we collected:
→ 3,119 cigarette butts
→ 2,466 plastic pieces
→ 597 food wrappers
→ 369 glass pieces
→ 344 foam pieces

At Archon, we spend a lot of time thinking about inventory and data, so seeing pollution tracked item by item made the impact feel especially real. We’re proud of our team for giving back to the community and helping protect Toronto’s waterfront!
