From our archives in 2018. Revisiting our original design from 2018 for our 2019 Signature Event branding for . The idea/concept was tao jeung/Chinese stamps, also known as artist chops in background, with the diamond orientation inspired by the 福 hanging in our art director’s home, and very specific ornamentation on the edges, atop two colourways: a plum and a bright orange square with thin lined hand illustrations (original creations by our team) in tonal colour… The orange was a specific tone taken from our Magazine edition 4 spine colour, with the embroidered fabric stripes from our magazine cover.
When you author something, go through the iterations in the dozens, sometimes hundreds, to get to the final design as a team, you recognize right away when it’s being ripped off, even if it’s watered down.
