Without any sugarcoating, there's a growing sentiment among home service franchisees that franchise business sales teams oversell support, and the real operational struggles tend to surface 9 to 12 months after launch, right around the time initial momentum fades and day-to-day reality sets in.
That timing isn't a coincidence. Month 9 or 10 is when a franchisee has hired staff, taken on real volume, and found out whether the systems behind the brand can actually support growth, or whether they were sold a vision without the infrastructure to back it up.
Prospective franchisees are paying attention. They're comparing notes with each other before they sign, not after, and operational readiness (not sales momentum) is what's actually being vetted in those conversations.
If your home service franchise brand's support only holds up through the sales process, that gap will surface eventually. So, here's the question worth asking before someone else asks it for you: what would your systems say if a candidate looked at them right now?
