Dear Wordpress,

We need to talk.

We've been together 18 years. You were there for our first client site, and for hundreds after that. You still run most of the sites we build and maintain, and that's not changing.
But for our own website, I'm moving on.

It's not you. It's me.

I changed. These days I do most of my work from the command line with AI tools. I hadn't opened your dashboard in months. When the admin screen is the part you skip, it's a sign.
And honestly, things had gotten heavy. I ran Google's Lighthouse test on our home page: 49 out of 100. On a slow phone, the main content took almost 19 seconds to show up. For a web agency, that's a bit embarrassing.

So I met someone. Astro. A lot simpler, a lot lighter. Same test: 100.

I know what people will say. "He'll be back." And for most of our clients, you're still the right choice. If you edit your site every day, sell online, or need bookings or memberships, I'll recommend you again tomorrow.

We can still be friends. We see each other every day at work anyway.
