This room has brought us so much joy and so much pain in the last 5 years. 🧸❤️🥀🌹
First year building it — construction headaches
Second year operating with joy (and stress) & hosting our wedding
Third to fifth year — fighting for our reputation & financial losses
Osita was a dream come true, and it was gone just as we started to see the fruits of our labour — a thought trustful business partnership gone terribly sour.
We were married, August 20th, 2022. ✨
Yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary.
We held our reception in this room.
We held each other in this room.
We laughed and we cried in this room.
Our families gathered together for the first time.
Our friends frequented this room.
It’s been 3 years since we last stepped foot in this room. And these photos have been too painful to share.
On August 5-7th, 2026 we spent 3 days in the BC Supreme Court to fight for justice for the loss of our business on Commercial Drive, and now we patiently wait weeks to months for the judges verdict.
This week I was so sick I was hospitalised, letting go of the stress that Osita has caused us has been a mental and physical journey the last two weeks, but also throughout of our entire marriage.
Having to scramble to find a new lawyer only 3 weeks to our court date didn’t help, but in the end was a blessing from the gods.
Not exactly the path we thought we’d be on as newly weds, but one that we worked through together, that made our marriage stronger than ever.
Small business is a wild ride.
Make sure you truly know who you’re signing paperwork with.
Money changes people in awful ways.
In sickness and in health
In business and in life
Jesse, I love you more than yesterday, but not as much as I will tomorrow
