Stop Childhood Asthma from Stopping Childhood. Diagnoses of children with asthma have increased profoundly in the past generation. The BC Lung Foundation needed to gain awareness of its role in the fight against childhood asthma and compete for the resources needed to win it. By dramatizing how asthma can take the child out of childhood through this series of OOH posters and bus kings we’re bringing the BC Lung Foundation’s vital work out into the fresh air.

16 years ago today these two nuts started this idea called Spring. The first day of Spring on the first day of spring. It's been a wild ride, it still is. Every year, on this day we do an act of goodness. B***k Day and Hugs for Hunger for the food bank etc. This year Springers are helping our own Ukrainian born and raised Veronika Shyyan raise funds for protective non-lethal defence gear to help her homeland. One of our Springers, Veronika is the only member of her family not currently living in Ukraine. She is raising funds to help protect average Ukrainian citizens who are making a brave stand in the Territorial Defense of their country. These are people like you and me, facing deadly Russian force wearing nothing more than sneakers and street clothes. The spirit, fearlessness and sheer determination shown by the Ukrainian people is profoundly inspiring. We can help.

The need is urgent and immediate. Veronika’s hometown is currently fully occupied by Russians and the only tools that the people have are their courage and fearlessness.

Last week, Russia launched a full-scale, unprovoked and illegal military invasion of my home country of Ukraine. I am working with my friends in BC and Toronto to purchase and send bulletproof vests and other means of non-lethal personal defence.

Few have borne the burden of this pandemic more heavily than healthcare workers. Not just nurses and doctors but those who are there through every step. Those who once felt the support of banging pots and pans, now face the ugly threatening and often violent behaviour of the anti-everything misinformed. One of the most touching pieces of feedback we received on this commercial, created by Spring for Health Sciences Association BC, was regarding the accurate portrayal of the “after-shift cry”. When an after-shift cry becomes the norm, we know that everything is upside down.

Veronika Shyyan is now an Account Manager at Spring

Let’s start with a professional gymnast, nationally ranked athlete in her native Ukraine, who is a graduate in Journalism. Then, let’s add in Marketing Communications at BCIT (graduated with distinction) plus, experience with clients such as BC Hydro, Nintendo, Subway and Science World. Add it up and you get Spring’s newest account manager, Veronika. We’d do handsprings to show how happy we are to welcome Veronika to Spring but it’d be a heck of a lot safer and way cooler if she did them on our behalf.

Abi Mukherjee is now a Designer at Spring

Armed with a Master’s in Design, Abi brings his truly multifaceted talents in digital design, art direction, graphic design, photography, illustration and even work as a curated Biophilic artist (that’s working with live plants and organic materials) to the Spring creative room. Abi has worked on brands that include Marvel, Aeropostale and Arrow and is winner of the prestigious Elle design awards, India for the best design collection in 2014. We’re thrilled to have him.
