If you click a result today, you're not going straight to the page anymore — Google now bounces the click through a google.com/goto?url=... redirect first, then sends you on to the site.
Google confirmed it to Search Engine Land: "We have a long history of deploying technical measures against evolving forms of abuse, and we regularly take steps to protect our services and users."
The likely target: scrapers, third-party rank trackers, and AI tools that pull data straight from the SERP (Google's ongoing fight with tools like SerpAPI is a good example).
For most searchers, nothing changes — you still see the URL under the snippet before you click. But if you rely on third-party SEO tracking tools, keep an eye on your data over the next few days and flag anything that looks off to your tool provider.
Rankings aren't affected. Search Console isn't affected. Just the path the click takes to get there.

New website. New domain. Same organic traffic, recovered in just 30 days. 📈

When a client was ready for a new digital presence, we didn’t just redesign the website. We also moved it from an established legacy domain to a new brand domain.

The challenge? Making the change without leaving years of SEO progress behind.

BEFORE → AFTER

Before the migration:
→ ~40 organic clicks per day
→ Established search rankings and domain authority
→ Years of SEO signals tied to the old domain

After the migration:
→ Organic traffic fully recovered in about 30 days
→ 0 → ~43 daily clicks on the new domain
→ 7-day traffic average crossed the old baseline by Day 27
→ Domain Rating began transferring from DR 0 → 7

How did we protect the progress that was already there?

We mapped old URLs directly to their new equivalents with precise 301 redirects, rebuilt internal links to point directly to the new URLs, and optimized page titles around the search relevance each page had already earned.

The result wasn’t just a redesigned website.

It was a successful transition to a new digital home without starting over in organic search.

A business came to us with a damaging review: a 1-star rating with a serious, unfounded accusation attached. The kind of review that can scare off potential customers before they even give the business a chance.

- Identified the review and how it violated Google's review policies
