National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Today is a day for reflection as we honour the survivors of residential schools, as well as the children who never returned home.

As we reflect, we want to express our deep gratitude to the Indigenous communities across Canada who have supported Ocean AID throughout our journey. We would not be where we are today without your guidance, partnership, and support.

In our work in ocean technology and restoration, we are committed to working alongside Indigenous communities and learning from their knowledge, leadership, and stewardship of the oceans and lands since time immemorial.

Today, and every day, Ocean AID remains committed to the ongoing journey of reconciliation.

Last week, we had the opportunity to take part in the University of Victoria’s Startup Showcase! 🚀

We were excited to bring along some of our current and former co-op students to showcase our Marlin Box and share a little bit about what we’re building.

Co-op students have played a huge role in our journey and growth, and we’re incredibly grateful for the talent, energy, and fresh perspectives they’ve brought to our team along the way.

The largest river project we have had the privilege to work on!

Super thankful for Ocean AID to support on bringing the next generation of salmon enumeration to large rivers like the Skeena! Grateful to learn from the Lax Kw’alaams fisheries technicians, and from the many amazing partners on this project.
