Just thought I would share this post to let my computer customers know I am back in Wainwright and ready for business again :).
During the last 2 partial days of my business trip to BC visiting many computer shops in Kamloops, Abbotsford, Burnaby, Coquitlam, and Richmond; I made time to visit the famous Stanley Park for the first time in my life. During the 4-5 hour walk on each of the two days, I got to interact with the wonderful people of BC. When it got dark on the first night around 5:30pm, I had to get help navigating back to my vehicle because if I continued around the seawall, I would have entered downtown Vancouver LOL. The people of BC are just as courteous on the road as they are on the streets.
On the first day in Stanley Park, I survived on 2 cookies and iced water in a 1.5 litre Thermos. On the second day, I came overprepared and brought Chinese take out from 2 different places plus 3 steamed pork buns. Parking was very affordable at $12.00 for the entire day.
When I was much younger, there was a joke about the abbreviation of BC standing for "Bring CASH" as everything there was so expensive. It kind of is true if you are visiting the food courts in Richmond as everything is CASH only.
I went to the Continental Restaurant in Richmond later in the evening and they had a big Chinese New Year celebration from a finance company so I got to see the "Lion Dance" before taking me to a different area of the restaurant. I ordered the special fried rice and requested Dim Sum Hot Sauce.
I bought the Shrimp, Beef, and Pork Rice rolls from the famous Hei Hei Rice Roll located inside the Richmond Public Market along with their special congee with an added Chinese donut, all for under $20.00
The pork buns and bowls of noodles (both dry noodles and soup noodles) were also bought at various places that make the buns and noodles fresh. (they have a window so that you can see them making it).
During the time at Stanley Park, I had lots of time to reflect on the many blessings in my life including family, friends, business customers, and health. I am hoping everyone on Facebook can help me choose my new profile photo by putting a comment or like on the photo.
