I want you to steal this web design process, so be sure to save this post and come back to it when you’re planning your website.

Here’s the top-secret formula:
1. Know your audience
Figure out who you’re speaking to, what they need, and what will help them trust you.
2. Write the copy first
Get clear on what you offer, who it helps, and what you want visitors to do next.
3. Give each page one topic
One clear topic helps your visitors understand the page and helps Google understand it too.
4. Plan your headings
Use one H1 for the main topic, then H2s and H3s to organize the supporting information.
5. Organize the page
Arrange your content in a logical order, from the main introduction to trust, services, proof, and your call to action.
6. Choose the vibe
Decide whether your website should feel professional, playful, calm, bold, luxurious, or somewhere in between.
7. Keep your fonts simple
Choose one font for headlines and one readable font for body copy. Your website is not a ransom note.
8. Create colour rhythm
Alternate backgrounds and use darker sections for emphasis to make the page easier to scan.
9. Add helpful visuals
Use photos and icons to support your message, show your work, and break up large sections of text.
10. Do the five-second test
Can someone quickly understand what the page is about and what they should do next?
Now you have my top-secret website formula. Use it wisely. 😉

People don't buy from you because your logo is beautiful. Thats a coming from a designer.
They buy because the whole experience of your business tells the right story.
When you're building a brand, think like a storyteller.
You know the writing advice?
Show, don't tell.
Don't tell me you're professional.
Show me.
Don't tell me you're approachable.
Show me.
That's what your colours do.
Your fonts.
Your photography.
Your messaging.
Your logo, it all plays a piece of that story.
So the next time you're looking at your website...
Ask yourself,
"What story am I telling?"

These logos never made it.
And honestly... I'm glad they didn't.

One of the biggest misconceptions about logo design is that a designer should nail it on the first try. While that would be nice, that's not really how great branding happens.

A logo isn't something I create for my clients. It's something we create with them.

I bring the strategy, design experience, and ideas.
My clients bring their knowledge of their business, customers, and what feels authentic to their brand.
Sometimes they can't explain exactly why something feels off, they just know it does. And that's incredibly valuable feedback. My job is to take that feeling and turn it into a stronger design.

That's why every branding package I offer includes revisions.

Not because I expect the first concepts to be bad.
Because I expect the final concept to be even better.
So here's a little behind-the-scenes look at some logos that didn't make the cut... and the ones that did.

All jokes aside, this is why I actually love the revision process.

Clients don't always have the design vocabulary to explain why something feels off, but they almost always know when something isn't quite right. That feedback is incredibly valuable.

My job isn't to convince them my first concept is perfect. My job is to listen, figure out what's causing that feeling, and design a stronger solution.

That's why logo design is a collaboration. Every round of feedback gets us a little closer to a logo that not only looks good, but actually feels like their business.

I think these final logos are a huge improvement over where they started. What do you think?

These are some of the logo concepts that didn't make the cut.

Whenever I take on a logo project, I don't just jump into Illustrator and hope for the best. Everything starts with a discovery call where I get to know your business, your target audience, and the overall direction we should take.

From there, I do my research, sketch out ideas, and create three different logo concepts for you to choose from.
Once you've picked your favourite, I start refining it, exploring colours, typography, and all the little details that bring the logo to life. Then I send it back for another round of feedback before making any final revisions.

At the end of the project, you receive your finished logo, a branding sheet, and all the file formats you'll need like JPG, PNG, and SVG.

The logos you see here weren't "bad" ideas. They just weren't the strongest fit for the client's vision. Sometimes seeing what doesn't get chosen is just as interesting as seeing the final logo.

Being a mom and an entrepreneur isn't easy but that doesn't mean we are doing a bad job. The fact that we find it hard shows that we care. We care about our work and we care about our children and that isn't a bad thing. Keep strong mamas, I'm rooting for us.

Pretty websites are everywhere now.

AI has made it possible for just about anyone to create a beautiful website in minutes, which means looking good isn't enough anymore.

So ask yourself... does your website do these three things?

Build trust

* Use real photos of yourself, your team, or your products.
* Show your Google reviews and client testimonials.
* Include certifications or associations you're part of.

Discoverable

* Is your website answering the questions your customers are searching for?
* Is it set up to show up in Google and AI search results?

Guide people to take action

* Is it obvious what someone should do next?
* Can they book a call, contact you, or buy something without having to think about it?

A website isn't just there to look pretty. It's there to help grow your business.

So... how many of these boxes does your website check?

Leanne Digital.

Yup, we're dropping the "Design."

When I started this business, graphic design was a huge part of what I did. And honestly, it still is. I love design and probably always will.

But over the last few years, the business has grown into something much bigger.

These days, we're helping businesses with branding, websites, SEO, AI search optimization, hosting, maintenance, digital marketing, and all the technical stuff that helps them get found online.

The truth is, I'm passionate about more than just making things look good.

I love helping businesses improve their visibility, connect with their customers, and grow. That's where I see the biggest impact.

The other reason for the change? This business isn't just me anymore.

I get to work alongside my talented developer and CTO partner, Gary Burns. Together, we bring design, development, SEO, and strategy together under one roof.

So while the name is changing, what we care about isn't.

We're still helping businesses show up online, tell their story, and connect with the right people.

Just with a slightly shorter name. 😄

Welcome to Leanne Digital.

Here are 5 things you can do right now to improve your website.

First, make sure you have a clear call to action near the top of your page.

Second, be descriptive with your headlines. Don’t make people guess what you do or who you help.

Third, break your content up into sections so it’s easier to scan.

Fourth, include one visual element per section. This could be icons, images, graphics, or even a fun text treatment.

And fifth, make sure you have whitespace at the top and bottom of your sections. This keeps everything easy to read and makes your website feel less cluttered.
