«Agentic AI is not just a better chatbot.»
That is how Raphael Raetzo describes it. And he should know. More than 20 years in customer service, from senior banking roles to leading regional job placement at the Canton of Bern.
Public administration is under pressure from every side. Employees are retiring. Skilled workers are scarce. Citizens expect fast, simple, always-available service.
The old answer was to work harder. Answer the same standard question for the twentieth time. Let citizens wait in a queue.
Agentic AI changes that. It takes initiative, plans tasks, and coordinates steps on its own. Instead of only answering a question, it helps process the entire request. Staff get real relief. Citizens get help around the clock, in their own dialect.
But one principle holds: «AI should never make sovereign decisions on its own.» It stays a transparent tool. The final responsibility always stays with a human.
That is how we think about Collaborative Agentic AI. It augments human talent, it does not replace it.
How do you see Agentic AI in the public sector?
