๐ Confimarket at HackCanton: Project Results
โก๏ธ The hackathon is in full swing, and the Confimarket team is hard at work on our product. We're building a next-generation prediction market infrastructure โ one that's more secure, scalable, and tailored for institutional capital.
We're creating a platform for forecasters, traders, and institutional players who want to treat prediction markets like real financial instruments โ complete with hedging, advanced strategies, and wealth management.
Right now, the market is pretty limited in this regard: existing solutions are either too centralized or completely open. The former lacks flexibility and trust, while the latter sacrifices privacy and data control. As a result, it's hard for big capital to enter this space.
โ๏ธ We're solving this through the Canton Network โ an infrastructure that bridges traditional finance and Web3, allowing users to interact with decentralized systems without losing control over their data.
๐ฅ This is the foundation Confimarket is built on. It's a prediction market where both retail traders and institutional players can comfortably step in without sacrificing privacy or efficiency.
๐ What have we accomplished so far?
โถ๏ธ Completely rewrote the platform's internal architecture.
โถ๏ธ Created our own intermediate token system โ similar to CTF tokens on Polymarket.
โถ๏ธ Developed and launched our own explorer.
Essentially, we aren't just building a product for participating in prediction markets. We're building the infrastructure that makes it possible for institutional capital to enter the space โ bringing volume, liquidity, and a level of trust that matches traditional financial markets.
๐ The prediction market sector is already massive and keeps growing:
โถ๏ธ $27.7-29.8 billion in monthly volume (+10% average annual growth);
โถ๏ธ192 million transactions per month;
โถ๏ธ 800,000 monthly active users;
โถ๏ธ $1 billion in open interest.
โก๏ธ Our goal is to capture a significant share of this market, starting at 1%+, and build a sustainable product and ecosystem on this foundation.
