At YB-TECHs, I recently led the end-to-end design of an AI-powered authentication system based on palm vein recognition.
Infrared images capture the unique vein patterns inside your palm , a biometric trait that is internal, impossible to replicate, and highly stable over time. But the technology alone is only half the story.
What made this project stand out:
— Full pipeline ownership: from IR image acquisition and preprocessing, through feature extraction and matching, all the way to the authentication decision.
— Industry-grade evaluation: FAR, FRR, EER, and ROC curve analysis, inspired by FIDO Alliance and NIST frameworks. Rigorous metrics that most early-stage projects skip entirely.
— Designed to scale: the architecture was built with real-world security deployment in mind, not just academic validation.
The result is not just a model. It's a complete, evaluable system that bridges research and practical deployment in biometric security.
