Many smart device brands start with Tuya OEM apps to launch quickly.

But as products scale, OEM apps often become limiting:
• Limited customization
• Weak brand differentiation
• Restricted feature development

Recently, our team helped a commercial HVAC company migrate from a Tuya OEM app to a fully customized Tuya SDK-based solution.

What we delivered:
✔ Custom mobile app with full branding
✔ Advanced device control and monitoring
✔ Scalable architecture for future device expansion

The result:
A fully branded smart HVAC platform with greater flexibility and long-term scalability.

If you're planning to move beyond Tuya OEM apps, this case may be helpful.

ESP32 Chip Selection: Why “Just Pick One” Is a Bad Idea

A lot of IoT projects start with “Let’s use ESP32.”
But ESP32 isn’t a single chip — it’s a whole family.

ESP32, C3, S3, S2…
They differ a lot in:

- Cost
- AI capability
- Security features
- Peripheral support

Choosing the wrong one early can quietly cause problems later:
over-engineering, limited scalability, or painful redesigns.

I put together a practical comparison that explains:

- What each ESP32 series is actually good at
- Which chips make sense for edge AI vs. low-power products
- Common selection mistakes I see in real projects

If you’re building an IoT or smart hardware product, this might save you some time 👇

Using ESP32 as an IoT gateway? Don’t reinvent the wheel.

Many ESP32-based projects struggle with the same problem:
how to reliably bridge different protocols and devices into an MQTT backend.

OpenMQTTGateway is an open-source project designed exactly for this purpose.

In this article, we explain:
• How OpenMQTTGateway works internally
• Why ESP32 is a natural fit for it
• Common IoT gateway scenarios (sensors, RF, serial, automation)
• Limitations you should be aware of before using it in production

ESP32-S3 + Edge Voice AI: It’s Not About “Can It Run.”

When people talk about ESP32-S3 and voice AI, the first question is often:
“Is it powerful enough?”

In real projects, that’s rarely the right question.

The real work starts when you balance trade-offs:
• latency vs. accuracy
• power consumption vs. always-on listening
• memory limits vs. model complexity
• lab performance vs. real acoustic environments

ESP32-S3 makes on-device voice AI possible —
But it doesn’t remove the need for system-level engineering decisions.

In MCU-class voice AI, success is usually determined before model deployment:
in architecture choices, audio pipeline design, and power strategy.

This is why edge voice AI is less about “running a model.”
and more about knowing which compromises you can afford.

(We recently shared a real ESP32-S3 edge voice device case for those interested.)

ESP32-S3 isn’t just “AI-ready” — it’s constraint-driven.

In our latest ESP32-S3 voice AI project, most of the engineering effort went into:
• managing limited memory
• keeping latency predictable
• maintaining accuracy in real acoustic environments

Edge voice AI is less about big models —
and more about system-level tradeoffs.

Many teams come to us after running into common issues:
• Noisy retail or warehouse environments
• Strong accents or region-specific vocabulary
• Latency problems in live deployments
• ASR APIs that fail once traffic scales
• Need for on-device or privacy-focused voice processing

That’s where our engineering team steps in.

We’ve helped 20+ overseas clients build production-ready voice systems, including:
✔ Custom low-latency ASR tuned for their industry
✔ Speech models running on edge devices/offline
✔ Real-time audio streaming with WebRTC or gRPC
✔ Wake word, noise suppression, speaker detection
✔ Smooth integration into their apps or AI agents

Feel free to message me if you want to discuss your idea or validate a POC direction.

Want to turn device events into actions that your team can see and control in real time?

We have just published a blog covering how we linked n8n workflows with AG-UI to build true visual automation, from user clicks to device commands and dashboards.

What you’ll learn:
✔ How the front-end (AG-UI) sends triggers and renders results
✔ How the backend (n8n) handles workflow logic, AI calls & MQTT
✔ A live use case: retail chain automation works across sites with one stack

Whether you’re in manufacturing, retail, or building automation, this is how you level up from simple alerts to full-stack automation.

🚀 New AI Dev Case Study from ZedIoT

We helped a data center detect hidden hardware problems using AI acoustic monitoring — yes, the system “listens” to servers and spots abnormal sound patterns before real failures happen.

This helped the client:

- Catch early fan and power issues
- Reduce downtime risks
- Improve maintenance efficiency
- Strengthen overall data center monitoring

A small change made a big difference.
If you're managing servers or infrastructure and want earlier visibility into potential hardware failures, we’d love to talk.
