One CloudWatch Agent update. Five teams to coordinate. 30 rolling deployments. All for a version bump. 💡

Kubernetes solved this years ago with DaemonSets. AWS just gave ECS the same answer.

ECS Managed Daemons decouple agents from your task definitions, one per instance, up before your apps, down after them. No gaps, no sidecar sprawl.

Catch: only works with ECS Managed Instances, not EC2 or Fargate.

Every ECS engineer knows this pain: one CloudWatch Agent update, five teams to coordinate, 30 new task revisions, 30 rolling deployments. All for a version bump. 💡

Kubernetes solved this years ago with DaemonSets. AWS just gave ECS the same answer.

ECS Managed Daemons decouple operational agents from your application task definitions. Define the daemon once at the cluster level, and ECS guarantees exactly one agent per instance, up before your apps, down after them. No gaps in monitoring. No sidecar sprawl. No more chasing five teams for a one-line env variable change.

There's one catch: it only works with ECS Managed Instances, not classic EC2 or Fargate.

Već treću godinu zaredom deo smo KTJ Club Business Challenge-a, i svake godine se iznova uverimo da ovaj izazov nije samo o trčanju. Tu su zajednički treninzi, međusobno bodrenje i pozitivna energija koja traje ceo mesec. 👟🏃‍♂️

Scaling IoT platforms is rarely an infrastructure problem; it's an operational complexity problem. ⚙️

As a European smart infrastructure provider expanded its multi-tenant IoT platform, the real challenge wasn't onboarding more devices. It was manual tenant operations, weak tenant isolation, and fragmented observability creating operational risk at scale.

To address this, we redesigned the platform around a modular plugin-based architecture and automated cohort-based tenant provisioning. We also implemented strict multi-tenant isolation with dynamic credentials and unified observability using Grafana and InfluxDB.

This transformed tenant management from a manual operational process into an automated platform capability, improving scalability, security, and day-to-day operations.

Key outcomes:
▪️ ~90% reduction in manual tenant operations
▪️ Strong multi-tenant isolation with RBAC and dynamic credentials
▪️ Unified observability with SLA-driven monitoring
▪️ Platform engineered for predictable, automated scale

Scaling wasn't solved by adding more infrastructure; it was solved by reducing operational complexity.

Cloud modernization is rarely just a migration; it’s a risk and complexity problem disguised as infrastructure work. ☁️

In this engagement, the goal was to migrate 10 production microservices from AWS to Azure while modernizing the platform, improving scalability, and reducing costs, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.
