Faster code is not always the biggest latency win.

Teams often tune the application first. But saving 2 μs in code may matter far less than removing 20 km from an optical route.

A 50 μs trading round trip can hide dozens of smaller delays. That is why we treat latency as a budget. Every layer spends part of it:

- Network interface card (NIC) and OS stack: 20–50 μs per packet, or 1–5 μs with kernel bypass, which lets the application exchange packets with the NIC directly
- Fiber: roughly 5 μs per km, one-way
- Colocation close to the exchange: kilometers of fiber become meters

Jitter, the variability of latency, often matters more than raw speed. A steady 30 μs response is usually better than a 20 μs average that occasionally spikes to 200 μs.

The useful question is not how fast a system is. It is where its latency budget is being spent.

What will Vietnam need by 2030 to win AI infrastructure investment?
That was the question at the closing panel of the Vietnam Cloud & Datacenter Convention in Ho Chi Minh City on August 20, 2026. Our founder and CEO, Vladimir Kangin, was one of the speakers.
Our answer has three parts, and none of them works alone:

- abundant, resilient international connectivity;
- compute capacity connected to it;
- power that investors can count on.
Power is the one most likely to hold the others back. The gap is reliable, large-scale supply with delivery timelines investors can rely on.

The network matters just as much. Subsea capacity and route diversity (separate cable paths) decide whether compute in Vietnam can serve the region. Faults on four of the country's six subsea cable systems in 2026 showed why.
We already run network gateways in Vietnam, and we are building AIDC DeCenter, a data center for AI workloads in Da Nang Hi-Tech Park, in phases.

🎥 Video quality depends on more than your internet speed.

When businesses start working with 4K video, live streaming, or large-scale video transfers, network requirements change — and some important factors are easy to overlook.
Even a 1 Gbps connection can deliver poor video quality if the network experiences high jitter, packet loss, congestion, or inefficient routing. For real-time video, network consistency can matter just as much as peak bandwidth.

Upload capacity matters too. A company may have plenty of bandwidth for downloads but still run into problems when multiple cameras are streaming simultaneously, large video files are being uploaded, or content is being sent to remote teams and cloud platforms.
Then there is the network path itself. The location of a service, CDN, or network PoP — and the route traffic takes to reach it — can affect latency and reliability. Two connections with the same advertised speed can perform very differently depending on routing and network interconnections.

And the network does not stop at the internet connection. Heavy video traffic can put additional pressure on Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and gateways. For business-critical broadcasts, a second connection or an independent network path may also be needed to eliminate a single point of failure.
That is why preparing a network for high-quality video is not simply about buying more bandwidth. Capacity, traffic direction, routing, latency, packet loss, network equipment, and redundancy all need to be considered as part of the same system.

For businesses, understanding these details can help identify the real bottleneck before investing in new equipment — or blaming the video platform.

Sometimes the problem isn't the video. It's everything the video has to travel through.
