The KPMG Cyprus IT consulting team came in with market intelligence and business insight. Artemis Intelligence team came in with the agentic architecture demo. Michael Glaros and Nauria Gul leading — Nauria and Carl remote. The conversations flowed across both sides of the table.

What made it work was the energy in the room. Technical questions opening up commercial ones. Market observations sharpening the architecture conversation. Business and tech, asking each other the questions that surfaced the real problem.

Our DevOps Architect, Gul wrote her first blog post for AI, Can! It's a good one.

She tells the story we kept hearing from clients: the AI team is ready, the model is selected, everyone is excited… and then someone asks, "where are we on the network topology?" Silence.😅

Because before any of the interesting AI work can happen, somebody has to spend four to six weeks building the unglamorous infrastructure underneath. The kind nobody budgets for and everyone underestimates.

She rebuilt that same infrastructure three times before deciding it shouldn't be a project anymore. It should be a product.

Our AI in Government - CySKILLS-AI project work is now underway. Thankful for the great partnership and collaboration of CYENS Centre of Excellence on this important project.

CYENS Centre of Excellence is proud to be part of CySKILLS-AI, a national research and innovation project developed in collaboration with Artemis Intelligence and the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth aiming to align education with the future needs of the labour market in Cyprus.

Funded under the “AI in Government” programme, the project addresses critical national challenges such as fragmented data, delayed policy responses, and limited forecasting capacity by building a real-time, AI-powered skills intelligence system.

The CYENS team, Dr Vassilis Vassiliades, Marios Thoma, Chara Theocharous, and Niki Kyriakou contributes to the development of advanced AI solutions that transform complex, multi-source data into actionable insights for policymakers, educators, and industry.

💡 At the core of CySKILLS–AI is a three-layer system that:

• Consolidates data from job markets, higher education, and national surveys
• Uses specialised AI agents to analyse skills gaps, career pathways, and future trends
• Delivers real-time intelligence through tailored dashboards for decision-makers

Running from March 2026 to March 2029, the project will support faster, evidence-based decision-making and strengthen the connection between education, innovation, and employment in Cyprus.
