In a recent interview for DEV.BG, Darina Kirilova, Head of Experts Department (IT) shares how our teams in Sofia and Varna contribute to delivering IT services and software solutions for KBC Group’s bank and insurance entities across Europe. 👏

Our growth focus includes Data & analytics (Data Hub), cloud (AWS), IT business analysis, cybersecurity, and new initiatives involving LLM, blockchain, UI/UX, mobile development, Adobe Experience Manager and ServiceNow.

🌍 CapABLE: Driving inclusion through innovation

The KBC Sustainability Report 2025 highlights CapABLE as a meaningful example of how inclusion can be advanced through innovation and collaboration.

Developed by KBC Global Services, has received recognition at European level, including being acknowledged during the EU Diversity Month Opening Ceremony in Brussels in April 2025, where the impact of the initiative was showcased.

🏆 The project had previously been recognised by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) with the “Diversity in the Workplace” award, reflecting its pioneering approach to inclusion.

🤝 CapABLE brings together cross‑functional teams from HR, Risk, Compliance, Legal and IT, working in partnership with a local Bulgarian NGO. Through initiatives such as the “Working with disabilities: common myths and misconceptions” training sessions, the project contributes to building awareness and fostering a more inclusive workplace culture.

Baba Marta is just around the corner and we continue the tradition of hosting our charity bazaar to support a good cause chosen by our people.
This was the very first CSR initiative that our team embraced and has been keeping close to our hearts throughout the years.💙This year, the collected funds will be donated to the Special School for Visually Impaired Students “Prof. Dr. Ivan Shishmanov” in Varna.

Huge thanks to all colleagues who took the time to handcraft these beautiful symbols of health and prosperity, and to each and every one who stopped by and contributed to the cause. Your involvement makes this tradition truly meaningful. 🤍❤️

Once again, we celebrated a year filled with success, opportunities, and togetherness as Team Blue by hosting our Christmas parties in both Sofia and Varna.

Moments like these allow us to pause, enjoy the company of our friends and colleagues, and look ahead with confidence. The celebrations took place just before the time when we all step back to recharge and reconnect with our loved ones.

And now, as we head into this well-deserved break, we wish everyone a joyful holiday season filled with many smiles.

✨This week we had the honor of attending the gala dinner for the Building of the Year Awards. Our General Manager, Todor Petkov, Chief Human Resources Officer, Violeta Malar Momiroska Malár Momiroska, and Architect, Toma Mihaylov, gathered in Sofia to accept a special recognition for the nomination of the reconstruction of our new office floor in Varna.

Although we didn’t take home the award this time, we are proud to have received special appreciation from the organizers, colleagues and partners - a true testament to the months of hard work, creativity and dedication behind this project.

Above all, we believe the new office space brings daily inspiration and comfort, making our employees feel happy and at home while at work.

Mission Moustache Complete! 🥸

Last month, our office turned into a glorious parade of moustaches. But behind all the facial hair was an important message. 💙

Movember is not just about growing a moustache. It’s about raising awareness for men’s health, having the balls for open conversations, and reminding each other to take care of both our physical and mental wellbeing.

🙌 Jakub, one of our colleagues, shared his personal story:
“Movember is close to my heart. Over the years, I’ve faced challenges that connect deeply with its message. So, not shaving is the least I can do. Please, never hesitate to see a doctor or reach out for help when you need it - there’s no shame in taking care of your health.”
