Here are 6 insights for business owners and marketers shared by our Head of Marketing, Olga Topal, after attending COE 2026 in Prague.
🔹Make it a priority to attend such events. It is better to see what is happening in the market once than to read about it 100 times. You will see new products and solutions, and understand what your competitors might use tomorrow.
🔹Listen to the questions people ask at the booths. It is an incredible source of insights.
🔹The basics of sales and marketing are the same as they were 10 years ago. While the internet changes daily and the marketing channel feels unstable, you should focus on your brand and customer retention. Build trust and sell through emotions or stories. Nothing has changed here, even in 2026. That is why old marketing and sales books still remain relevant.
🔹It is much harder to sell to someone who is hungry. We saw this at the afterparty where long food lines completely stopped people from networking. If you are renting a booth, make sure to have snacks and drinks ready to keep your potential clients comfortable and focused on the conversation.
🔹If you go to an event to sell, be ready for competitors. Many teams at the exhibition couldn't explain why they were better than the booth right across from them. Don't make this mistake - know your unique value and be ready to state it clearly.
🔹In today's unstable environment, many companies selling ready-made solutions (like AI bots or CRMs) require annual contracts to secure their own future. However, this is the biggest concern for clients. They worry about what happens if the tool does not fit or how much custom changes will cost in the long run. 🤔 This is why we often see companies buy ready-made tools and then come to us for a custom solution. When you own your software and it is adapted to your business processes, you are independent of vendors and yearly contracts.
