After working with enough APIs our TypeScript developer Jakub Vacek started to see a recurring situation: Some companies decide to use documentation standards to improve the documentation or reusability of their API.

☝️ However, they don’t allocate enough resources to do it right and the outcome is a document that doesn't match the real API, actually making developer experience worse.

This pattern motivated Jakub to write an article which sums up the benefits and challenges of using an OpenAPI Specification.

🔹Ensuring the quality of bank integrations, data flow security checks and verification of the right implementation between banks and BankID
🔹Supporting the banks during the integration process, enabling them to resolve any possible issue

Our Process
🔹Identifying errors from multiple reporting tools in order to validate the correctness of the integrations
🔹Weekly synchronization meetings held with all the banks - report on the current status and explore bottlenecks
🔹 End-to-end tests with example use-case scenarios of BankID integration
🔹 Expanding the test lists and checking their successful implementation by the parties that integrated with BankID

→ What was the resolution?
We successfully contributed to the launch of several of the country's largest banks into production, enabling them to provide digital identities to millions of customers through BankID. 🎉

Hlavním účelem startupu je přijít s myšlenkou co nejdříve na trh a tím ji validovat. Proto je pro ně životně důležitá integrační část a napojení jejich produktu na stávající ekosystém.

To se děje typicky v oblasti fintechu, ale také prakticky u jakýchkoliv SaaS produktů.

The meeting fatigue
Are your meetings meaningful? Focus on the importance, length, regularity and value. One of the causes of increased meeting quantity is also the lack of trust.

The (lack of) culture
Think of ways to engage with your developers and for them to engage with each other. Always base your steps towards a better team culture on wants, needs and actual feedback.

Benefits
Offer WFH benefits, like setting up developers home office. Set clear boundaries and offer ways to distinguish where work ends and life starts. And what about transparent cash flow that offers stability for your developers?
