Matriceal Mode on the OXI One can also be used for drum sequencing, combining independent sequences with different lengths and rhythmic divisions to create evolving drum patterns, complex polyrhythms, and dynamic grooves.

On Oxi One you can build your chord foundation in Chord Mode, then switch to Poly Mode to unpack every single note. This gives you the freedom to tweak the timings of every single note of the chord and add polyphonic variations

The OXI ONE’s Groove function lets you transform rigid, quantized patterns into something much more alive and expressive. Similar to Ableton Live, it allows you to introduce timing shifts and velocity variations to your triggers, adding swing, dynamics and a more human feel to your sequences.

A quick and powerful way to bring movement, groove and personality to your patterns without manually editing every single step.

Here’s another trick to create interesting basslines with the OXI One in just a few steps!

First, I randomize the sequence with a range of +7 and a 70% density, creating a relatively dense pattern while keeping the notes close to the root note of the selected scale.

Then, I shorten the sequence to 5 or 6 steps. By pressing [Init] + [End] together, I enter Loop mode, where I can use the second encoder to move the loop across the sequence. This allows me to scan through the pattern and find the perfect bassline to complement my drum beat.

Finally, to keep the groove consistent, I usually enable the Reset after 1 bar function, ensuring that the sequence repeats at the beginning of every bar.

With OXI Pipe 2, you can easily send CV and Gate signals from your OXI ONE straight to your modular system using a simple HDMI cable. This lets you integrate the OXI ONE seamlessly into your modular setup, using it as a sequencer, an LFO generator, or a versatile modulation source.

Another example of how to use the new Fixed Velocity Steps introduced in the latest OXI One update! ⚡️

With the new Velocity Lock feature, “fixing” individual steps and their velocity gives you more control in Random modes.

To do that simply hold the step and press the first and fourth encoders. This allows you to define the core structure of your sequence and preserve your accents, so you can keep randomizing without worrying about losing the essence of your pattern. 🎛️

New in the latest OXI One update! ⚡️

You can now fix the velocity of individual steps.

This is especially useful in Multitrack mode: set your accents on specific steps and then change the global velocity without affecting the steps you’ve fixed.

To fix a step, simply hold the step and press the first encoder. A small dot will appear next to the velocity value, indicating that the velocity is now fixed.

A simple feature, but a powerful addition for more dynamic and expressive sequences. 🎛️
