The Psychology of Selling, Leo Gather's current Masterplan favourite, explains the psychological triggers behind the decision to buy a product.

The desire to buy, has 3 dimensions:
• Functional benefit — we buy a product because of its function or use
• Economic benefit — we buy a product because we expect an increase in value
• Emotional-psychological benefit — we buy a product because of the feelings and perception it provides

Depending on the Product and situation, the three dimensions can vary in strength. However, the emotional-psychological benefit is 𝐚̲𝐥̲𝐰̲𝐚̲𝐲̲𝐬̲ the deciding factor.
