Let me share what I learned today from Kristian Rother and Nico Kreiling. For a deep dive, you can join them for a 3h workshop on 24 June 2022 at the AI Guild summit.
Teaching data science to anyone
You need to master the methods of teaching data so that you are practical for your students, online or in-person.
Industry experience helps, especially if you remember how you struggled initially. It empowers you to shorten and improve the journey for the next generation.
Teach what you identify with and like. Your students will thank you.
Visual data exploration with python:
First, it is essential to understand your audience on data exploration and visualization. Are you communicating results (e.g., to stakeholders) or generating hypotheses and insights for modeling?
Your expertise needs to be broad (Python, R libraries) for selecting the right approach (and not just the tool you always work with). To deepen your expertise, it pays off to use the documentation available and work with colleagues.
If you want to learn hands-on from Kristian Rother and Nico Kreiling: Join the 3h workshop each is giving on Friday, 24 June 2022, at the AI Guild summit in Berlin.
