Did you know that just 21% of all used in the world is ? โ™ป๏ธ

Considering the good characteristics and benefits of recycling glass, researchers from Brunel University London discovered how to boost in the construction industry by using recycled glass.

Because glass is made from sand, itโ€™s simple to process and it can be directly used in the manufacture of concrete, which, in this new research, is used to print building blocks, indicating huge progress in the architecture and construction fields. Could you picture a neighborhood made entirely of recycled glass in the near future? ๐Ÿ™๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Solving the with

Just picture this: how about having your house built in two days as opposed to the months or weeks it takes to build it the traditional way. This is not just any , but a modern, contemporary one for a lot less money. All it takes is selecting a design and pressing print.

โžก๏ธ Benefits of building a 3D-printed house over a traditional house:
โœ… Faster construction
โœ… High flexibility in terms of the design
โœ… Good quality
โœ… Low cost and affordable (reduce the construction cost by 30 percent)
โœ… Reduced labor
โœ… Resilient to disasters
โœ… Sustainable

A 3D-printed house can accommodate at least 1.6 billion people worldwide who currently lack adequate housing due to rapid and .

Would you consider owning a 3D-printed house? Companies such as Holcim and XtreeE are already working on that!

Great find ๐Ÿ”ป

3D printing presents itself as a fitting solution to the chronic housing shortage faced by countries globally. Communities can be built faster if adopted

Researchers at Aalto University developed a transfer technology that can charge many devices at the same time irrespective of the receiverโ€™s localization and orientation. This suggests that, in the future, this technology may be used to charge while they are travelling! ๐Ÿš˜

But this is not the only field of research: โ€œat the moment, you need to put a rice cooker or a blender at a particular spot for it to get energy. But with our technology we can make the whole kitchen counter a source of power for appliances or even phones, but the electromagnetic field is only generated under the devicesโ€ said Prasad Jayathurathnage, the projectโ€™s postdoctoral researcher.

Indeed there are many more implementations of this new technology! ๐Ÿคฉ In the Visual Explorer below, you can deepen your knowledge and find interesting insights related to the topic of your search query. Donโ€™t miss any updates!๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ‘‰ Discover this โ€œgame-changing tech for efficiencyโ€!

Researchers at the University of Delaware developed a 2 inches by 2 inches electrochemical cell fueled by , able to capture 99 % of out of the air.

Although the technology was designed for an usage, it might also be used to remove carbon dioxide somewhere else: โ€œthe UD-patented technology could enable lighter, more efficient carbon dioxide removal devices in spacecraft or submarines, where ongoing filtration is criticalโ€, announced Brian Setzer, co-author of the project. Furthermore, as the hydrogen economy grows, this invention can be used in airplanes or buildings, saving a large amount of energy.

situations are not all conducive to rigid rule-based control. Did you know that traffic jams cost EU member states 100 billion euros per year in economic damage?

Artificial intelligence ( ) could improve traffic flow by 10โ€“15 %. Scientists from Fraunhofer's IOSB are working on a project called KI4PED that uses sensors to detect and track people in real-time. LIDAR is used across a wide range of industries, as demonstrated in our Visual Explorer ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Intelligent traffic light control can help:

โœ… reduce travel time

โœ… Lower traffic congestion-related noise and CO2 emissions

โœ… Improve pedestrian safety

New time record! โŒ›
Researchers at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) have developed a stretchable that can measure from -100 degrees Celsius up to 200 degrees Celsius and notify a change in temperature within milliseconds.

โ€œWe have developed soft temperature sensors with high sensitivity and quick response time, opening new possibilities to create new human-machine interfaces and soft robots in healthcare, engineering and entertainmentโ€, said researcher and lead author of this study Zhigang Suo.

Indeed, the new thermometers can be integrated into , , and devices. But not only: โ€œyou can choose different materials, arranged in different ways and optimized for different tasks.โ€

According to Suo, this innovation can โ€œenable and improve the internet of everything and everyoneโ€. Curious to know why? Learn more about this innovation in the article below! ๐Ÿ‘‡
