Buyers and sellers alike are looking to approach digital video, the most premium of inventory, programmatically. Still in its early stages, sellers are easing into offering their premium inventory in this manner, luring in buyers looking for greater audience insights. Programmatic video buyers have high expectations: the high-accuracy audience insights of digital with the secure inventory and environment of TV.

The most promising aspect of programmatic video buying is that it might blur the lines between different screens, allowing buyers to reach across multiple devices on a single stroke. Programmatic video won’t develop the same way as programmatic display, and TV buyers will have an important voice in the development of next-level platforms.
