We are happy to announce that three of our great colleagues will be speakers at this year's DevOps Enterprise Summit. They will talk about our DevOps journey and the challenges in the context of the pandemic. We'll be sharing more on this in the coming weeks. Stay tuned 😊🙌🏻

Veränderungen sind das große Thema der aktuellen Zeit! 🆕 Umso wichtiger ist es für uns, unser IT Fundament zu stärken und auszubauen. Die TUI IT Organisation verändert sich gerade grundlegend, dazu kommen spannende interne Projekte. Frank Rosenberger, Mitglied des Vorstands, IT und Future Markets berichtet in unserem internen Podcast unter anderem über unsere neue DomainOrganisation und TRIPS.

Zum besseren Verständnis: TRIPS umfasst unsere Produkt-, Bestands- und Reservierungskapazitäten. Hier entwickeln wir unsere eigene Technologie, um unsere Entwicklungen zu beschleunigen und die Flexibilität für unsere Kunden zu steigern. Dank der Nutzung von Cloud-Technologie steigern wir das Tempo unserer Innovationsfähigkeit und können neue Urlaubsarten und Reiseerlebnisse für unsere Kunden in sämtlichen Märkten wesentlich leichter entwickeln und umsetzen. Somit können wir unser Geschäft zukunftssicher aufstellen.

Changes are the big topic of the current time! 🆕 This makes it all the more important for us to strengthen and expand our IT structure. The TUI IT organisation is currently changing fundamentally, and there are also exciting internal projects. Frank Rosenberger, Member of the Executive Board, IT and Future Markets talks about our new domain organization and TRIPS.

For your better understanding: The TRIPS project mentioned covers our product, resource and reservation capacities. Within this project we are developing our own technology to accelerate our developments and increase flexibility for our customers. By using cloud technology, we are accelerating the pace of our innovation and making it much easier for us to develop and implement new types of holidays and travel experiences for our customers in all markets. As a result, we can position our business for the future.

Unseren neuen Mitarbeitern an allen Standorten einen optimalen Start ermöglichen – dieses Ziel hat sich unser Colleague Computing Team im Rahmen eines Workshops vergangene Woche gesteckt.
Hardware, Telefonie, Software und Collaborationtools sind nur einige der Aspekte, die zukünftig vereinheitlicht im Konzern gehandhabt werden sollen.
Analog zu unserer Konzernstrategie stehen auch hier einheitliche Lösungen, passend für alle Märkte, im Vordergrund.

To give our new employees at all locations the best possible start - this is the goal our Colleague Computing Team set itself during a workshop last week.
Hardware, telephony, software and collaboration tools are just a few of the aspects that will be handled in a harmonized manner throughout the Group in the future.
In line with our Group strategy, the focus here is also on consistent solutions suitable for all markets.

Open Space Agility @ Aviation IT ✈️
In der vergangenen Woche hat unser Aviation IT Team als erstes das Konzept getestet. Zentrale Fragestellung des Workshops: „How do we take working as ,One Aviation IT‘ to the next level to maximize user value?“⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tolle Ideen wurden diskutiert & nach vielen großartigen Pitches wurden fünf Experimente ausgewählt, an denen in den nächsten 100 Tagen gearbeitet wird 🔝

Excellent ideas were shared and discussed & after many great pitches, five experiments to work on in the next 100 days were chosen 🔝

In unserem -Post haben wir bereits über unsere Reise vom Tourismus- hin zum Digital- und Plattformunternehmen berichtet. Diese Woche fand ein Virtual OnePlatform Hackathon für den einfachsten End-to-End-Prozess statt: Wir schicken Frank (Frank Rosenberger, CIO IT & Future Markets) in den Urlaub!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Der Hackathon begann mit einer Developer-Konferenz, bei der Frank dem Team mitteilte, wohin die Reise gehen soll ✈️ Anschließend hatten die Teams 3 Tage Zeit, um die Daten durch unsere Systeme fließen zu lassen und seine Reise zu buchen.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mit beteiligten Teams aus UK, den Niederlanden und Deutschland war der Hackathon nicht nur eine großartige Veranstaltung, um zu beweisen, dass Unterkunfts- und Flugdaten über APIs von der Beschaffung bis zum Verkauf und wieder zurück fließen können, um Franks Urlaubswünsche zu erfüllen, sondern auch um unsere Kollaborationsprozesse und -technologien ausgiebig zu testen!

In our post, we’ve already talked about our journey to evolve from a tourism company to a digital and platform company. This week, a Virtual OnePlatform Hackathon took place for the simplest end-to-end process for the new platforms: send Frank (Frank Rosenberger, CIO IT & Future Markets) on holiday!

The Hackathon started with a Developer Conference, where Frank told the team where he would like to go ✈️ Afterwards, the teams had 3 days to get the data flowing through our systems to book his trip.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With teams involved from the UK, Netherlands & Germany, the Hackathon was not only a great event to prove that accommodation and flight data can flow across APIs from sourcing to sales and back again to fulfill Franks holiday, but furthermore test our collaboration processes & technology!

The teams achieved great results with very positive feedback 🥳 we are already looking forward to the next Hackathon! Thank you to everyone involved! @ Hanover, Germany

. Was bedeutet das für uns? Auf unserer Reise als Konzern, von einem Touristikunternehmen hin zu einem Digital- und Plattformunternehmen, liegt unser Schwerpunkt darauf, Dinge nur einmal zu kreieren, um Komplexität zu reduzieren und effizienter zu investieren. Dadurch können wir schneller agieren und sicherstellen, dass wir relevanter für unsere Kunden sind und können ihren Erwartungen und Anforderungen besser gerecht werden.
Für uns als Konzern stellt dies eine bedeutende Veränderung dar. In unserem Geschäftsbericht formulierte unser CEO Fritz Joussen die Zielsetzung wie folgt: „Wir befinden uns in der zweiten Stufe der Neuausrichtung der TUI – dem Wandel zu einem Digitalunternehmen. Dadurch wird unser Unternehmen erheblich stärker aufgestellt als durch sämtliche Schritte, die wir in den vergangenen fünf Jahren ergriffen haben”. Lest mehr auf unserem Blog. What does that mean for us? On our journey as a group, from a tourism company to a digital and platform company, our focus is on creating things only once to reduce complexity and invest more efficiently. This allows us to act faster and ensure that we are more relevant to our customers and better able to meet their expectations and requirements.
For us as a Group, this represents a significant change. In our annual report, our CEO Fritz Joussen defined the objectives as follows: "We are in the second stage of TUI's realignment - the transformation to a digital company. Unsere Azubis und Dualen Studenten hatten gestern im Rahmen ihres „Bootcamps“ zum Beginn der Ausbildung ihr Training zum Thema „Agile Basics“. Die ELMO-Karten wurden dabei auch schon fleißig genutzt und finden zukünftig vielleicht auch in dem ein oder anderen Meeting Anwendung 🤓 Das „Bootcamp“ beinhaltet einen Basisüberblick über Inhalte, die in der Ausbildung und den Fachbereichen wichtig sind. So sollen sie schneller die Möglichkeit bekommen, in die Praxis eingebunden zu werden.

Our apprentices and dual students had their training on "Agile Basics" yesterday as part of their "boot camp" at the beginning of their apprenticeship. The ELMO cards have already been used a lot and may be used in the future in some meetings 🤓 The Bootcamp contains a basic overview of contents that are important for the apprenticeship and the departments. So they should get the possibility to be integrated into the practice faster.

„Ordnung ist das halbe Leben“. 🤓 In der dritten Woche unserer Wellbeing Weeks geht es ums Ausmisten, und somit darum nicht nur mehr Platz und Sicherheit im Büro zu schaffen, sondern auch im Kopf. Denn eine saubere und aufgeräumte Umgebung verbessert nicht nur die Produktivität und Motivation, es gibt auch ein neues, leichteres Gefühl bei der Arbeit!
