Did you already hear of the new RaceBox Mini? It's a new and modern Bluetooth GPS with many nice features. I have had the opportunity to test demo units for a few weeks now, and they've been great! Most importantly, the just released RaceChrono Pro v7.5 supports RaceBox Mini!

Did you know that RaceChrono v6.0 can automatically synchronise video files from your GoPro and Garmin VIRB cameras, if it has a built-in GPS? Many of the recent support requests from Android users have been related to problems recording when the screen has been turned off. This is caused by power saving settings, and you're most likely to run in to these issues if you're using the built-in GPS on your phone. Here's something that took a lot of R&D to complete! This is a demo video for RaceChrono Pro v6.0 and it's new CAN-Bus feature. The data has been collected using a self built CAN-Bus reader and a QSTARZ BL-1000GT GPS receiver. The RPM, Gear, Throttle, Brake and Lean angle data come from CAN-Bus on 2018 KTM 790 Duke motorcycle. The CAN-Bus data is glorious 20 Hz with no lag.

I've just updated the list of recommended external GPS receivers. I did some extensive testing on Garmin GLO 2 with latest firmware (v2.10), and looks like it finally works with Android phones like it should. It's winter in Finland, and I'm working hard on new RaceChrono features for the next racing season. This time I'm not only creating software, but I'm working on some hardware too! Just finished building the device that is closest in the picture, it's the most recent iteration of a brilliant open-sourced tyre heat sensor project. I will post the URL once the author is ready to release it to masses. The devices in the back, partially hidden by the wire-stripper are of my own design, and you'll hear more about them in the spring :)
