Sessions introduce ideas. The conversations that follow test them, challenge them and help turn them into practice.

Every November, Software-QS-Tag feels like a reunion for the testing community. Familiar faces reconnect, new ones join the conversation, and topics raised throughout the programme keep developing over coffee, lunch and dinner.

That combination of expert input and shared experience gives the conference its impact. A new perspective can challenge an assumption, sharpen an approach or influence how someone works when they return to their team.

The A4Q team is looking forward to continuing the conversation in Frankfurt on 11 and 12 November.

The road to the Global Final of the World's Best Tester Championship 2026 runs through your own country or region.

Compete as a team, or solo as a team of one, at your national or regional World's Best Tester event: real software nobody has seen before, a fixed time window, and AI tools not just allowed but encouraged. When the clock stops, experienced judges read every report and score the craft, not the count.

Every event crowns its top three teams, and the top ten go through to the Global Final in December. There each qualifying team is represented by its leader, who goes up against the best from every region to take home the title of World's Best Tester 2026.

Next up in September:

Georgia, 8 September, on site
GeoSTQB TESTING CUP 2026 - with GeoSTQB - Georgian Software Testing Qualifications Board

France, 19 September, online
World's Best Tester - France Qualifier 2026 - with CFTL - Comité Français des Tests Logiciels

Morocco, 26 September, online
TESTING CUP - MOROCCO 2026 - with CMTL - Comité Marocain des Tests Logiciels

Finding and fixing defects is necessary. Understanding why they occur and preventing them from returning creates lasting value across the organization.

In his A4Q Testing Summit presentation, Eric Riou du Cosquer explores how TMMi can help organizations assess, strengthen, and sustain their test capability. Drawing on more than 15 years of TMMi assessment experience, he addresses common weaknesses in test organizations and covers meaningful metrics, risk-based testing, test environments, defect management, and a practical six-step approach to company-wide root cause analysis.

How can organizations demonstrate the value of testing? How can they turn defects from individual project issues into lessons that improve quality across the company? And how can greater test maturity lead to fewer defects, higher efficiency, and stronger business alignment?

AI has moved to the center of almost every testing conversation.

Teams are working out how to test systems that will not give the same answer twice, and how to use AI without losing their grip on quality. These are exactly the questions practitioners are bringing to the table this year.

The Software-QS-Tag, the Partner-Conference of A4Q, has a dedicated Test & AI track for 2026, one of its four tracks, where teams share what is genuinely working in real projects.

In one month, testers across France meet an app nobody has seen before to find out who tests best under pressure.

The World's Best Tester - France runs online on Saturday 19 September, 10:00am to 12:30pm Paris time.

Two and a half hours, your own laptop, no travel and no day off work. The application stays under wraps until the start signal, so there is nothing to revise beforehand. Compete as a team, or solo as a team of one. AI tools are welcome, and using them with judgement counts in your favour.

Real people assess the work afterwards. A few well-argued findings outweigh a long list of thin ones. Medals go to the best three teams, and the leading ten take their place at the Global Final in December.

Register your team for the France event:

The World’s Best Tester is an A4Q initiative, sponsored globally by GASQ and iSQI, with CFTL sponsoring the French event.

Generative AI is changing more than the tools used in software testing. It is also changing the responsibilities of test managers.

In his A4Q Testing Summit presentation, Alex Bremer explores the shift from traditional to AI-enabled test management. He looks at how to develop an AI test strategy, manage new risks, establish effective governance, evaluate tools and their return on investment, and lead teams that combine human expertise with AI capabilities.

How should test managers respond to shadow AI, unreliable outputs, and rapidly changing skill requirements? And how can they benefit from AI without losing control of quality?

The presentation also places these practical challenges in the context of the ISTQB CT-GenAI syllabus.

AI compliance is a system, not a checkbox.

Responsible AI requires more than meeting a requirement once. It depends on risk awareness, governance, human oversight, traceability, and accountability throughout the AI lifecycle.

The A4Q Certified Professional for AI Compliance (EU AI Act) helps professionals build the shared competence needed to understand risk classifications, implement relevant obligations, and connect legal, technical, and business perspectives.

AI is not only changing testing. It is changing how teams make decisions.

That is why QA and test management are moving beyond validation, automation, and release support. In AI-driven environments, quality leaders need to help teams maintain clarity, trust, and responsible governance while delivery continues to accelerate.

In her A4Q Testing Summit 2026 presentation, Ecaterina Irina Manole explores how QA can stay relevant in the AI era by connecting technical awareness with human judgement, collaboration, psychological safety, and ethical decision-making.

We are already looking ahead to the next A4Q Testing Summit in April 2027, and your input can help shape the agenda.

Business Analysis became a profession because practitioners worked together to define its knowledge, responsibilities and shared language.

Olivier Denoo is one of those contributors. Through his work on the IQBBA Foundation and Advanced Level syllabi, he helped turn international experience into a structured framework that future Business Analysts could learn from and apply.

His wider work across professional qualifications and software quality has also strengthened the connection between Business Analysis, requirements and testing—disciplines that are most effective when they work together.

At A4Q, we believe qualifications are strongest when they are shaped by experts who understand the work in practice.

Thank you, Olivier, for helping define a path others can follow.
