For SUMIDA, sustainability goes beyond our own operations. Through our “𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝟒𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲” program, we integrate sustainability considerations into product development from the very beginning. Our goal is to create products with a lower carbon footprint, optimized material efficiency, extended service life, and improved recyclability. Together with our customers, we are actively shaping a more sustainable future for the electronics, energy, and automotive industries.
We are especially proud of the achievements at our Erlau site: Despite a highly challenging market environment and intense competitive pressures, we have successfully reduced 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐎₂ 𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝟔𝟓% 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬. This is a strong demonstration that 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐠𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝.
Our progress is not only measured locally, but systematically tracked, transparently reported, and continuously improved across all SUMIDA locations worldwide through so-called 𝐂𝐎₂ 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬. In this way, we ensure that sustainability is not just an ambition, but delivers measurable results.
This award is first and foremost a recognition of the dedication of our employees, who make a daily contribution to conserving resources, improving energy efficiency, and driving sustainable improvements.
