SIVA Suite

SIVA Suite SIVA Suite is a software for production and publication of interactive videos (see also http://siva.uni-passau.de/ and http://www.mirkul.uni-passau.de/en).

It can be downloaded from https://github.com/SIVAteam/SIVA-Suite Due to the changing usage patterns of media a growing need of interactive videos is emerging. Interactive video means the enrichment of existing video with include interactive elements. The development of an integrated software solution is targeted with the SIVA Suite - Simple Interactive Video Authoring Suite. With this software the

user will be able to interact directly with videos. This will allow him to design as well as to manipulate content, to influence the future course of the video, to enrich the video with his own knowledge or context sensitive display and additional information. These interactive videos, through its affiliations with other content are suitable to accelerate the transfer of knowledge and so to ease the multimedia-based cross-linking of knowledge. The software was implemented in during the projects:
"iVi-Pro" September 2008 - August 2010
"iVi-Pro 2.0" September 2010 - August 2012
"MobileTechTeach" September 2012 - June 2014
"mirKUL" September 2013 - August 2016
(see also http://siva.uni-passau.de and http://www.mirkul.uni-passau.de/en/outline/)

The development of the SIVA Suite was partially funded by the European Social Fonds and the Bayrisches
Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst (Bavarian State Ministry for Sciences, Research and
the Arts) under project names “Interaktives Video Editierungstool zum netzwerkbasierten Wissenstransfer (ivi-
Pro)” (“Interactive video editing tool for network-based knowledge transfer (iVi-Pro)”) and “iVi-Pro 2.0 - Interaktives
Video im Zeitalter von Mobilität und Kollaboration” (“iVi-Pro 2.0 - Interactive video in the age of
mobility and collaboration”) as well as “MobileTechTeach - mobile multimediale Hilfesysteme für technische
Anwendungen in KMU” (“MobileTechTeach - Mobile multimedia help systems for technical applications in
SME”). Furthermore, it was funded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (German Federal
Ministry of Education and Research) (BMBF) under project number 03V0633.
