🔨 Vandalism Protection for durable HMI
When designing HMI solutions for public spaces and demanding industrial environments, durability is required.

Vandal-resistant input devices are commonly found in ATMs, ticketing machines, access control systems, self-service terminals, industrial machinery, and marine applications. But protection against intentional damage is only one part of the equation.

A truly rugged HMI must withstand:
✔ Heavy mechanical impacts
✔ Water, dust, and contamination
✔ Extreme temperatures
✔ Oils, chemicals, and UV exposure
✔ Continuous operation in harsh environments

One key benchmark is the *IK impact resistance rating* according to IEC 62262. IK09 devices can withstand impacts of 10 joules, which is equivalent to a 2 kg tool accidentally dropped from approximately 50 cm during maintenance.

"Printec-DS, what were you like in the '90s?"

Back in the '90s, industrial technology looked very different. Yet one thing hasn't changed: the need for reliable, long-lasting equipment.

📍A milestone in our history: 1992

In 1992, Printec-DS designed and manufactured its first in-house keyboard with an integrated controller: the **DS102W**. This dustproof and waterproof plastic keyboard marked an important step in expanding our product portfolio and showcased our commitment to robust industrial solutions.

More than 30 years later, many of the products we supplied in the 1990s are still in operation. Several classic systems remain available, supported, and trusted by customers who value proven performance and reliability.

While our product range has grown with new technologies, automation, and digital innovations, we're just as proud of something else: product longevity.
