Selfnet e.V. is a non-profit student association supplying students with a broadband network in the dormitories of Stuttgart. Our aim is to offer a platform to pursue interests in communication technology and to discuss the latest developments. To provide this we operate a powerful network for the dormitories of Stuttgart. This usually involves a vari

ety of tasks. These range from network engineering, keeping servers running to organisational tasks of the club like membership administration. We're always happy about new faces! It doesn't matter if you know about a certain topic because you can learn about it. Whether it's the technical aspect, programming, good craftsmanship, accounting or public relations, ... or you just like to deal with people. Maybe you have an idea for a project? Just come to us on the campus Vaihingen to our office hours.

Selfnet e.V. ist ein gemeinnütziger studentischer Verein, der es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hat, Mitgliedern eine Plattform zur Verwirklichung und Diskussion ihrer Ideen im Bereich der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik bereitzustellen. Hierzu wird als Plattform ein leistungsfähiges Netzwerk in den Stuttgarter Studentenwohnheimen betreut. Dabei fallen vielfältige Aufgaben, von Netzwerktechnik über Serverbetreuung bis hin zur Vereinsorganisation und Mitgliederverwaltung an. Wir freuen uns immer über neue Gesichter! Ob du Ahnung von einem Thema hast, ist nicht wichtig, denn hier kannst du es lernen. Egal ob Technik, Programmierung, handwerklichem Geschick, Buchhaltung, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, ... oder auch der Freude daran, mit anderen Menschen zu tun zu haben. Vielleicht interessiert dich auch schon ein konkretes Projekt? Wir können jeden gebrauchen! Komm einfach mal auf dem Campus Vaihingen zum Support.

Update: Firmware updates have been largely successful and the network. Though one switch in In der Au which is there mainly for redundancy has ceased to function. It will be replaced in the following week.

Stand: Firmware updates sind größtenteils erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Ein einzelner Switch im In der Au Wohnheim ist leider defekt. Da der Switch aber nur für den zweiten Uplink des Wohnheims zuständig ist kann dieser im Laufe der kommenden Woche getauscht werden.

Update: Maintenance has been concluded since 6 o'clock PM.

Stand: Wartungsarbeiten wurden um 18 Uhr abgeschlossen.

We would like to inform you about a scheduled maintenance for our wifi infrastructure, starting Saturday May 2nd, 2020 between ‪2 and 4 o'clock PM. During this time there could be major‬ outages to the Selfnet wifi.

The wired network is unaffected by this maintenance.

We try to keep the outages as short as possible. At the latest on Sunday the WiFi network should be fully functional gain, if you still experience connection issues please contact [email protected]

Am Samstag, den 2. Mai finden von ‪14:00‬ bis voraussichtlich ‪16:00 Uhr‬ Wartungsarbeiten an Komponenten der WLAN-Infrastruktur statt. Daher kann es in diesem Zeitraum zu längeren Ausfällen des Selfnet WLANs kommen.

Das Kabelnetzwerk ist hiervon nicht betroffen.

Wir versuchen die Ausfälle so kurz wie möglich zu halten. Spätestens ab Sonntag, sollte das Selfnet WLAN ohne Probleme wieder funktionieren. Sollten dennoch Probleme auftreten, wende dich bitte per Mail an [email protected]

Aufgrund von Wartungsarbeiten an unserer WLAN Infrastruktur, kann es am 8. August 2019 zwischen 19 und 23:30 Uhr zu ausfällen beim WLAN kommen.

Because of maintenance work on our wireless-LAN infrastructure there might be outages today (2019-08-08) between 7 PM and 11:30 PM.
