We love seeing the Nome in the wild 🌍 - especially when it’s in the hands of talented creators like Starsky Carr ()

In one of his latest videos, he pairs the Nome with the Chroma Console to recreate the Stranger Things theme, showing just how versatile (and fun) the Nome can be.

🚀 U-SYNC 1.3 is out now! 🚀

This update is packed with awesome new features for anyone syncing their DAW and hardware. If you use Ableton, Bitwig, Cubase, or Nuendo, you’re going to love the new bi-directional control—finally, you can control tempo and transport both ways! Plus, we’ve added support for Luna and Nuendo, so even more setups are covered.

For those with multiple Nomes, you can now chain and sync them all to U-SYNC. Smooth, reliable sync across your whole rig.
We’ve also fixed some pesky issues, like problems when connecting multiple Nomes, plugin hiccups in Pro Tools, and installer troubles on older Macs.

Check out the new video for a walkthrough of all the new features and improvements! 🎬

PS: As always, U-SYNC 1.3 and FW 4.6 work for both Nome I and Nome II.

This concludes our "what is Nome?" series. So what have we learned, what is the Nome in the end? Well it’s all of these combined – and more! 🌟

It’s a Master Clock with bar signature (post 1), a powerful metronome (post 2), a time gateway between DAW and hardware (post 3), a USB-MIDI interface with smart merging (post 4), as well as:

The Nome isn’t just a clock – it’s also a USB-MIDI interface and a smart MIDI merger! 🔌

Here’s what it can do:

✨ Forward MIDI messages from USB to MIDI-DIN ports, so your devices can communicate seamlessly.

🔄 With the future DIN-MIDI input add-on, it can also send messages the other way, bridging your entire setup.

🎛️ The Nome merges MIDI messages with the MIDI Clock in a smart way, ensuring the Clock’s timing remains rock-solid – something no other device can do as reliably.

🎉 Back to Superbooth this weekend! 🎉

I’m super excited to be back at Superbooth this year, the ultimate synth convention in Berlin. While there won’t be a Sim’n Tonic booth this year, you can still find me hanging out with my friends from Reliq-Instruments at Booth 440 in Area O.

Reliq Instruments makes this MONSTER called Reliq – a massive and powerful 16x16 sequencer with MIDI FX, modulation abilities, and even an analog Matrix. Hell it can even work as a DAW controller at the same time! But more importantly: it's the first machine besides the Nomes to implement uber-tight sync with DAWs using U-SYNC - you have to see this in action 🤩

I’ll also have a few Nomes with me 😉 If you’ve been curious about them or just want to chat about syncing setups, drop by and say hi. I’d love to meet you in any case :)

Cheers,
Simon

PS: Here are some throwback memories from Superbooth 2022 – it’s always such an inspiring event! Can’t wait to see what this year has in store.

Have you ever wanted your DAW and hardware to play in perfect sync, do recordings exactly *on the grid* of your DAW without having to edit them afterwards? 💻

The Nome bridges the gap between your virtual instruments and your hardware gear – like sequencers, drum machines, and more. By acting as a time gateway, it ensures everything stays locked to the same clock, so your software and hardware worlds finally work together seamlessly.

And here’s the game-changer: with the introduction of U-SYNC, setting up your system has never been easier or more reliable. U-SYNC takes the stress out of syncing, so you can focus on creating music instead of troubleshooting connections.

Whether you’re in the studio or performing live, the Nome ensures your entire setup stays in harmony. Curious how it works? Head to simntonic.com 🌐
