Chamber opera is a unique form of art, which unites stage art, new art music, multimedia and technological effects. By using the laboratory as a work form applied on chamber opera, AUT wishes to create a platform for an artistic meeting in which we explore the opera genre as a contemporary form of art. Each lab lasts one week and takes its starting point in an artistic question thought out by 4 di
fferent young international composers. On the last day of each lab there will be an open presentation followed by an artist talk with all participants. coOPERAtion is a meeting place for different expertise. The ensemble LYDENSKAB who explores ”the staged ensemble” in their work, performance consultant Annika Lewis, opera singer and producer Christina Dahl and composer Line Tjørnhøj will constitute a constant team around the whole project. AUT wishes together with all artists involved to create new suggestions as to how opera can be staged in a contemporary context.
