How did Technological Renaissance change IT monitoring?
Back in the 90s, when monitoring tools were starting to be a thing, they were developed to monitor local networks with a limited number of users. By the beginning of the 21st century the monitoring needs for websites and Internet-based services grew.
That’s when a newer generation of monitoring tools was developed that supported standard Internet protocols, could be used on multiple platforms, and were typically Web-bases.
With the rise of online commerce, there were more business-related metrics introduced, thus the programs started to shift from measuring functionality to business-oriented tools.
The recent modifications introduced were cloud-based☁️ systems and a bigger stress on data analysis.
