The Neutron Star 4 Audio Reference Clock. What is it, and why do you need one? Many CD players, network players, DACs and PC motherboards are built with a mediocre clock, which will drag the sound down. A single inverter gate, and a cheap crystal on the 5V power supply. The soundstage becomes narrow, and colorless. It's hard to place instruments on the stage. Not only is the clock circuit in most players of poor quality, but also the power supply to it, is noisy. You can imagine that if you have say 0V out of your DAC, then the noise ref voltage of the DAC is transferred straight onto your output signal. However if the signal is moving, for ease of understanding let's say it's going up in the full amplitude, which would maybe look like 45 degrees going up on a scope, then it becomes the clock noise, that is now transferred straight onto your music signal. That's why you need a clock. The music becomes easy flowing, natural and you feel like listening to more music. The Neutron Star 4 clock can be installed in almost any player, and 50/50 of separate DACs. It has on board double layer regulators, using 8 ultralow noise green LED references in parallel. The crystal oscillator is pure sine wave, and temperature stabilised for a frequency stability of 1 ppm.

The current version of the Ultimate Mk2 Audio OPAMP using ultra lownoise japanese transistors, in a fully symmetric circuit. It has ultra high speed and fast settling time, with a slew rate of 120 V/uS. Fully unity gain stable, and with a DC offset trimmer on the side. All resistors are thin film high precision types for best performance and long term stability. +-5-25V power supply in pure class A.
