New Poster Design of Donnie Darko (2001)

I remember watching this movie and being: "This is a weird movie?" so I decided to make a poster of it because... Why not?

So I started with a black a background to reflect the movie's tone and atmosphere. Then I added an Image of Donnie as a primary element and colored it blue. Then I decided to make a grid composition where I placed images and elements from the movie and played around with color, threshhold and noise which I had a hard time adjusting in order to get the look I really wanted😩😖. Finally I chose the font: Brunson, which is a really cool and bold typo that I think made the poster pop even more espicially after adding the colour yellow, et voila!👌

This is a poster I did a year ago of a casting call for a play "Chkoun Qtel Mr. Lorillot?" I think it's a poster that captures mystery and ambiguity around a murder case in the 50s which really suits the play's story. Hope you like it!
