👨‍💻I really enjoy how productive and efficient Rails is. Its conventions and built-in tools help speed up development while keeping the codebase clean.

🔹𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐑 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭?
👨‍💻One of the biggest challenges was optimizing a slow API endpoint that handled a large amount of data. It required deep analysis and refactoring to significantly improve performance.

👨‍💻I really enjoy how much I’ve learned here. There’s always a new challenge that helps me grow as a developer.

👨‍💻I really like Jetpack Compose. It makes building dynamic UIs much cleaner and more declarative compared to the traditional View system.

👨‍💻My favorite part is the feature design and early implementation phase, right after the requirements are defined. That’s the sweet spot where I can figure out the best way to architect the feature.

👨‍💻I’ve learned how to collaborate better with the Business, Backend, Design, and QA teams, and how to plan features more clearly from the start. Technically, I’ve improved at writing clean, modular code and thinking more about performance and stability for real users. But maybe most importantly, I’ve learned the value of asking good questions early - it often leads to a better product.

🧑🏻‍💻It’s hard to believe, but it has been 4 years since I started working for Axon. I can’t remember a time when this company wasn’t in my life.

🧑🏻‍💻Yes, it is. I started as a system administrator, and after 9 months, I got my first project as a DevOps Engineer.

🧑🏻‍💻Absolutely! Even as an introvert, the integration was pretty smooth. A shout-out to the canteen, where, after a month of work, I knew everyone and could speak freely (but still sweating) as if it were an after-party.

New projects give you the opportunity to implement new technologies, explore different approaches, optimize pipelines, and see what works best for the customer’s needs.

It’s also great to see small projects grow into microservices giants, providing you with new challenges and new things to learn.

🧑🏻‍💻Cost optimization.

New technologies are great, but they are expensive. Although cost optimization is a very important part of my work, comparing cost tables and digging into what can be chopped or cut (even in my best project ever!) bores me to my bones.

🧑🏻‍💻Time management.

I can reverse-engineer anything, and I can get into anything—if I have the time to do it. Some tasks take longer than expected, and documentation on certain topics can eat up the whole day. What initially seemed like a 10-minute adventure—in and out—can suddenly consume hours.

Life as a Business Analyst at Axon: Insights from 3 Years on the Job! Our BA Kate shares her journey at Axon💙

👩🏼I’ve been working at Axon for three years now. I just had my third anniversary a month ago!

👩🏼This isn’t my first experience as a Business Analyst, but it is my first time working as a BA in outsourcing. It’s different from product-based work and more interesting because I can work across various modules.

👩🏼For sure! Everyone is open-minded and always ready to help with any issues or questions that come up. Working with different teams on multiple projects has helped me adapt my approach to different people. Of course, everyone is different, so communicating with some team members required a bit more effort - maybe even from their side when talking to me! 😄 But over time, I also found people I can chat with about things beyond work, which makes the experience even better.

👩🏼Frequent changes. Over the past three years, I’ve learned to be flexible, but sometimes it’s still tough to refocus and rewrite tasks from scratch.
