Exhibition: 20 Years of European Communication Design

Communication design is everywhere. It shapes how we move, choose, read, listen, and understand the world around us. From digital interfaces to food packaging, from typefaces and navigation systems to book covers and music albums, it quietly structures our everyday experience while reflecting the culture we live in.
This exhibition brings together a selection of projects from the European Design Awards library spanning the past 20 years. This is an evolving and dynamic archive of ideas, aesthetics, and intentions. These works capture shifts in technology, society, and overall awareness, revealing design as both a mirror and an agent of change.

ED-Conference | TALKS ‘26 Speakers: Paul Voggenreiter (DE) and Miroslav Zhivkov - Dzhingibi (BG)

Paul Voggenreiter and Miroslav Zhivkov - Dzhingibi will present a joint lecture exploring process, experimentation, and collaboration across disciplines and contexts. Alongside highlights from their individual practices, they will also present their nominated project for the European Design Awards 2026 — a work reflecting the dynamic relationship between structured design thinking and open-ended visual exploration.

Miroslav Zhivkov is an artist and designer based in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, whose work moves between graphic design, painting, and screen printing. Founder of NoPoint Atelier, his visual language combines analog experimentation and vibrant digital compositions into what he describes as “good-looking nonsense.”

Paul Voggenreiter is a graphic designer working between Germany and Bulgaria. His practice is shaped by research, dialogue, and project-based collaboration, often developed together with designers, artists, and cultural institutions across Europe, with a strong focus on the Balkan region.
