New EPD Publication!

Congratulations to Arabian Cement Company for their EPD publication for 3 of their products:
Clinker – OPC - CEM II A-P 42.5 N - CEM I 42.5 N

Also, they published Climate Declarations for their 3 products!

We hope that Arabian Cement’s initiative will inspire more companies in Egypt to make EPDs for their products.

Exciting Update!

Dr. Nasser Ayoub, PhD participated for the second day in the 14th CSR Sustainable Development Forum on the 1st of March at the “CBAM Workshop”. He gave basic definitions to introduce CBAM, then introduced the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Carbon Leakage.



The workshop delved into the intricacies of the EU CBAM and Emission Trading System (ETS), providing insights into its significance and basic concepts. Witness CBAM in action through real-world applications and gain a comprehensive understanding of its definitive period, key components, and requirements.

Dr. Nasser Ayoub, PhD (CEO & Co-Founder - EPD Egypt) participated in the expert talking about "𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗣𝗗 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 – 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀" on the 29th of February.

Dr. Nasser talked about what EPD is, its future importance, and how to develop it. Also, he showed the EPD’s relation with the local, regional, US, and European markets and how EPD is required for the different sectors worldwide.

We are happy that we participated in the 14th CSR & Sustainable Development Forum. We hope to introduce good insights for a green and sustainable future.

الأسبوع الثاني في الهيئة العامة المصرية للمواصفات والجودة...

لقد قدمنا لمحة عامة عن تقييم دورة الحياة البيئية للمنتج وتطوره منذ عام 1970 حتى الآن، ثم قدمنا بعض التعريفات المهمة وأهمية كل واحدة منهما التي تساعد في فهم كيفية إنشاء تقييم دورة حياة المنتج البيئية، كما وضحنا الخطوات اللازمة لعمله.

بدءاً بالخطوة الأولى "تحديد الهدف والنطاق" حيث تعتبر الأهم لأننا نحدد سبب إجراء الدراسة وما هو الجمهور المستهدف الذي سيساعدنا في المقارنة مع المنتجات الأخرى.

وسنواصل الخطوات القادمة في الأسابيع المقبلة.

The Second Week at EOS…

We gave an overview of the Life Cycle Assessment and its development from 1970 till now, then instructed some important definitions that would help in understanding how to create an LCA. Also, we started on the needed steps to do LCA and the importance of each one of them.

Starting with the first step “Goal and Scope Definition” is considered the most important one because we define the reason why we conducted the study and what is the target audience that will help us in comparing with other products.

We will continue to the next steps in the next weeks.

We are excited to announce that EPD Egypt held the first training program "LCA – EPD Practitioner Training" in 2024 on January 29th and offered for different sectors. The training sessions were conducted in collaboration with the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality in Cairo.

The participants gained insights into the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and the Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), emphasizing the significance of creating LCAs for products and services.
