Most AI adoption conversations still center on productivity gains. Microsoft's latest post reframes the question entirely.
They're calling it Frontier Transformation: a convergence of three forces. AI assistants are becoming the primary interface for work. Agents handle end-to-end workflow orchestration. And an intelligence layer connects signals across meetings, documents, chats, and live business data. The result is what Microsoft now calls "agentic business applications," a fundamentally different architecture for how enterprise software works.
In practice, this means Dynamics 365 and Power Apps surfacing directly inside Microsoft 365 Copilot, not as integrations but as native workspaces. A seller asks a question; Copilot pulls CRM context, internal knowledge, and external research together in one response, surfaced in place. The unit of value shifts from "find the right screen" to "get the answer and act."
