We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to turn our software into engaging, fit-for-purpose, and easy-to-use products for our clients.

Our UI/UX Designer will be responsible for requirements gathering from users, the crafting of various graphic elements and the design and building of navigational components. We expect you to have rich experience with a variety of design and wireframe tools. At Mirqah Media Lab, you will be creating a wide range of functional and aesthetic features across an interesting variety of projects ranging from games to web/mobile apps.

We are looking to build a team of senior back-end and front-end developers. Developers must have over 5 years of experience working in organizational settings entailing continuous delivery and deployment of code working with mentors, peers and clients. Back-end developers must have solid knowledge and expertise with Ruby on Rails (plus) an appetite for learning. In addition to Javascript / HTML5 / CSS, front-end developers must have solid knowledge and expertise with Angular.js, React and/or React Native (plus) an appetite for learning. Senior full stack developers are highly encouraged to apply.

Mirqah believes in the power of games for learning. Games are more than simply another more engaging way to learn. They allow for teaching very complicated lessons that only 'experience' can teach. Unfortunately though, neither companies nor higher educational institutions train potential game designers in the art of designing game experiences for learning. Mirqah's Game Design Training Program (GDTP) does just that.

We're looking to enroll 2-3 candidates. GDTP will run over 3 months starting early January 2019, and candidates are offered a stipend during this period. 1-2 candidates will be offered a full-time position by the end of the program.

Game designers work on creating, and continuously improving, board, mobile and/or web games. They are ultimately responsible for defining the way the game is played and the 'game experience'.

As part of the program they will be crafting:
* Basic game rules
* Setting, narrative, and characters
* Game mechanics and scoring methods
* Various props such as game tools and vehicles
* Variations of the way a game may be played.

Furthermore trainees will be working with artists, developers and UX/UI designers to turn visions into working games.

Candidates for the program should:
* Be highly creative and original
* Be able to quickly learn how to use various software packages and digital tools
* Be eager to learn about target customers
* Possess excellent mathematical abilities
* Have highly developed problem-solving skills
* Being a tad bit geeky is a plus!
