Astrolight is strengthening its leadership team by appointing Saulius Umbrasas as an independent board director.
Most of Saulius (Saul) Umbrasas professional career was spent developing advanced wireless technologies and applications. His experience comes from working in both large corporations such as Deloitte Consulting and AT&T as well as startup businesses in USA and in Europe. He was a founder of a California based millimeter-wave wireless company E-Band Communications where he grew the business from the ground up to a profitable company with customers in over 60 countries. Currently Saul is often asked to advise telecommunication carriers, satellite communications companies and enterprises on 5G and other advanced wireless technologies and their applications in private and public networks, Edge and Cloud computing. Saul is also serving on advisory boards of companies with innovative technology solutions in mobility, smart cities, IoT and green energy.
“It didn’t take me long to agree when I was asked by Astrolight to join their Board of Directors”, said Saul Umbrasas. “Astrolight grew out of my Alma Mater Vilnius University’s Physics faculty and is working in free-space optics, laser and wireless communications fields where I spend most of my professional career. As future of World’s connectivity architecture is clearly emerging with terrestrial and space networks working in unison, the technology that Astrolight is developing will be a fundamental enabler of the future of connectivity”.
