Today’s the day! 🌑☀️

The August 12 Total Solar Eclipse is here, but what you’ll see and when you’ll see it depends on your location.

Before it starts, make sure you’re ready: check if you’re inside the path of totality, find your local eclipse times, preview where the eclipse will appear in the sky, and choose a viewing spot with a clear view. 😎

Then, while it’s happening, use Moonlitt’s new Live Activity to follow the key phases and timings as the eclipse unfolds.

One important reminder: use certified eclipse glasses during every partial phase.

Is the Pink Moon actually pink? 🌸🌕

April’s Full Moon is called the Pink Moon, but the name does not mean the Moon turns pink in the sky. It comes from seasonal signs of early spring, especially the bloom of pink phlox in parts of North America.

So the Pink Moon will probably look like a normal full moon, though it can still appear warmer or more golden near moonrise depending on your local sky conditions.

The 2026 Total Lunar Eclipse happens tonight 🌕🔴

The Full Moon is passing through Earth’s shadow and when it becomes fully covered, it turns deep red: that’s why it is called a Blood Moon!

Unlike a solar eclipse, this one is safe to watch with your eyes, so no equipment needed!

You just need to know where to look and hope for clear skies above🤞

The March Full Moon is known as the Worm Moon 🪱🌱🌕

It’s tied to the seasonal shift. In many places, the soil begins to thaw and early signs of life return after winter’s pause. The name reflects that quiet change happening at ground level.

This Full Moon rises as the days grow longer and the evenings feel less sharp. It’s a subtle but real turning point in the sky and on Earth.

March’s Full Worm Moon 🪱 peaks on March 3, 2026. This is also the date of a total lunar eclipse 🩸, when Earth’s shadow completely covers the Moon and casts it in a deep red hue. It is going to be a rare blood moon visible wherever the Moon is above the horizon that night.

📆 It’s the first total lunar eclipse of 2026 and the last until late 2028.

Later in the month the Moon cycles through its phases:
🌗 Last Quarter around March 11
🌑 New Moon on March 19
🌓 First Quarter on March 25 as the Moon grows toward the next Full.

March also brings the equinox around March 20, marking the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
