WAX presenta… .allien

Como una de las artistas más icónicas de su generación, Ellen Allien encarna el espíritu central del techno: una visionaria que mira hacia el futuro en busca de inspiración, forjando su propio nicho y presidiendo un imperio que ha impregnado el techno, y la cultura de la música de baile, con su ADN único.
Su último LP, AurAA, publicado en junio de 2020, incluye una gran variedad de temas techno de inspiración rave y contundente, pero todos ellos con la firma sonora idiosincrásica de Ellen: ritmos de alto octanaje y un uso distintivo de las voces con ritmos y grooves irresistibles, que crean cualidades emocionales y auditivas que resuenan más allá de la pista de baile.

Her latest LP, AurAA, dropped in June 2020 featured a variety of hard-hitting, rave-inspired techno cuts, but all delivered with Ellen’s idiosyncratic sound signature; high-octane beats and distinct use of vocals with irresistible rhythms and grooves, which create listening and emotional qualities that resonate beyond the dancefloor.

“Al principio perfeccionó sus habilidades produciendo para algunas de las figuras más conocidas del rap gangster de la costa oeste. Después de aburrirse de la rutina, su búsqueda de lo que él se refiere como "un poco de mi**da futurista", le llevó por un camino imprevisto de la experimentación tocando en 2 step garage, post-dubstep, el grime, y otras facetas de la música UK Bass.

Varios años más tarde, se asentó en su estilo con algo entre el Chicago House y el Detroit Techno. Aunque, a decir verdad, no era nada nuevo para él. No es frecuente que un artista pueda abarcar tanta variedad sin flaquear, pero Matrixxman siempre ha evitado la conformidad.”

“Initially he honed his skills producing extensively for some of the west coast’s most notorious figures in gangster rap; YG and Ty$. After growing bored of the routine, his pursuit of what he refers to as “some cold ass futuristic sh*t,” led him down an unforeseen path of experimentation touching on 2 step garage, post-dubstep, grime, and other facets of UK Bass music.

Several years later he ultimately settled into his groove with something straddling the divide between Chicago House and Detroit Techno. It’s not often that an artist can cover such range without faltering but then again Matrixxman has always eschewed conformity.”

Como DJ, Insolate es conocida por sus sets de techno puro y enérgico. Esta claro para cualquiera que la ha visto actuar que es una DJ con mucha experiencia, pero también con mucha inspiración y ambición, y un profundo conocimiento del techno. Es sencillamente una presencia natural en una cabina de DJ. Si la has visto pinchar, sabrás exactamente lo que esto significa.

establishing herself worldwide as a DJ and producer for over 20 years.

As a DJ, Insolate is well known for her pure and energetic techno sets. It is clear to anyone who has seen her perform that she is an artist with a lot of experience, but also a lot of inspiration and ambition, and a deep knowledge of techno. She is simply a natural presence in a DJ booth. If you've seen her play, you will know exactly what this means.

La DJ Laure Croft, nacida en Holanda y afincada en Berlín, vive según el mantra "keep it sexy". Cuando está detrás de los platos, busca el momento de la liberación en las experiencias más potentes de la pista de baile, cuando se quita la ropa y la energía alcanza su punto álgido.
Esta actitud sensual se manifiesta en su forma de pinchar: un torrente constante de techno de alta intensidad sin apenas tregua, a lo largo de una colección que abarca desde mediados de los 90 hasta mediados de los 2000. No es una elitista del vinilo, pero al tocar un par de Technics descubrió una emoción interna de la que carecían los CDJ, donde la tensión en torno a la mezcla y la historia se incrustaban en los surcos de los discos que alimentan la energía de la fiesta.

Dutch-born, Berlin-based DJ Laure Croft lives by the mantra ‘keep it sexy’. When behind the decks she takes approach for the moment of release in the most powerful dancefloor experiences, when clothes come off and the energy reaches fever pitch.
This sensual attitude manifests in the way she plays – a constant rush of high-intensity techno with little respite as she rips through a collection which spans the mid 90s to the mid 00s. She’s no vinyl elitist, but in touching a pair of Technics she found an internal excitement which was lacking from CDJs, where the tension around the mix and the story embedded in the grooves of a record feed into the energy of the party.

Próximo sábado 27 de Mayo volvemos a .club con

Muy vinculado a Berlín y a las instituciones Berghain y Hard Wax, Dettmann se ha mantenido fiel a sus raíces buscando constantemente la innovación en la música electrónica, especialmente en lo que respecta a la integración del arte visual y el techno. Criado en la antigua RDA, Dettmann desarrolló muy pronto su pasión por la música electrónica, contando con la new wave, el post-punk y la música industrial como sus mayores influencias, mucho antes de descubrir el techno y acabar sumergiéndose en él. Desde principios de los 90 ha sido un fijo en Berlín como artista y DJ, y en 1999 se convirtió en residente de OstGut. También ha sido residente en Berghain, el sucesor de OstGut, desde su apertura en 2004 hasta la actualidad.

Widely associated with Berlin and institutions Berghain and Hard Wax, Dettmann has remained true to his roots by consistently seeking to innovate electronic music, particularly in regards to integrating visual art and techno. Raised in the former GDR, Dettmann developed his passion for electronic music early, counting new wave, post-punk and industrial music as his strongest influences – long before discovering techno and eventually immersing himself in it. Since the early 90s he has been a fixture in Berlin as both an artist and DJ, becoming a resident at OstGut in 1999. He has also held a residency at OstGut's successor Berghain since its opening in 2004 until today.
