Critix Media

Critix Media A Finland based startup founded to fight polarisation and exremism with empathy and understanding.

Critix combines news articles, blogs, and podcasts into groups/clusters of media about the same news story. This way, the app can show differing opinions about the same pieces of news. It allows users to read and report the news as trustworthy/untrustworthy, objective/subjective, positive/negative. A user can also report an article as opinion pieces, reviews, adverts or clickbait. The idea behind

Critix is to let people read and report news, as well as see the stats of all reports given by other users. By transparently seeing the data from all the reports, the readers can make their own conclusions about whether the articles credibility and bias in the article. The main goal is to make news consumption more transparent, more effective and even more entertaining, while educating our users to the complexity of modern journalism.

Thank you to everyone who downloaded and supported Critix.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride and we’ve learned a ton, grown even more, and we’re grateful for every experience along the way.
That said, we’ve made the decision to call it a day for Critix and shift our focus to the next chapter: HENGA

HENGA is a location-based app that helps you discover and connect with people, events, and hangouts around you — in real time.

Big things ahead. Stay tuned. 💥

For a second, think back to the 60’s. information traveled a snail’s pace compared to today’s hyper-speed. Now, everyone’s got a voice, which can be a good thing. But chaos, propaganda, and panic spread just as fast. If you hate social media, just don’t use it. Platforms like META, X, and TikTok aren’t changing. They’re designed to keep you scrolling, not fact-checking. And again, that’s okay. But posting online how you hate these social medias while still being on them is just dumb!

Our tiny Finnish app, Critix, tackles some of these issues by focusing on traceable sources and real news while still letting you express yourself. Sure, we’re not perfect because perfect doesn’t exist. Opinions are good! but we skip the cat videos and misinformation from randoms with no sources. Give us a try if that sounds refreshing.

And please, breathe. The world’s not ending. A lot is wrong, but also, Information just travels faster. Imagine the internet in the ‘60s. It would have been the same, right? Instead of silencing others, do what you can. Leave those forums. Try something else.

Breathe in, breathe out. Peace☮️

Freedom of speech doesn’t mean supporting the spread of disinformation. Opposing censorship doesn’t mean abandoning respect or civility. Today’s complex media landscape requires nuance.

We’re done with black-and-white narratives. The world is colorful, vibrant, and complex—just like the stories that shape it. Don’t point fingers at journalists or media outlets. Instead, equip yourself to cut through the noise.

Critix brings balance to your news intake with curated stories that expand your perspective and a personalized feed that delivers real-time updates on the topics you care about most.

See through the biases. Embrace the spectrum of news. We charm you with sophisticated news mutiny
💜💛
